This is a major concern of mine katyzzz, my diabetes seems to be getting worse. Raven

You must lose weight Raven, watch those sugars, you must exercise, in the chair, if necessary and with pain killers. Maybe your medication needs changing, are you on injections? you must check your blood sugar levels methodically and take appropriate action, work in close co-operation with a medical practitioner.

I know it's hard, eat lots of vegetables, wholegrain cereals, reduce stress, meditate and sleep whenever you can to make up for deficits.

Check that there is nothing else wrong that is compounding the problem.

I'll keep my eyes and ears open for you. Don't go down the too much protein track, it works but it causes serious other problems.

I'll see what I can find about diabetes for you for other health posts.

Avoid alcohol and cigarettes.

Keep those feet moving when you are sitting still, even short walks will help as often as you can and build up your exercise.

I feel so sorry about this, you've a lot to put up with.

Avoid salt, if you're dehydrated and how do you KNOW drink plain water, but coffee should be OK.

yup, the feet burn and then get cold, nerves on both of my forearms constantly burn, fortunately I don't drink or smoke, the weight is a problem (most of my medications cause me to gain weight easily), exposure to agent orange has aggravated my situation, and prostate cancer didn't help things katyzzz. I am not whining about the ailments, but that is a partial list of what I go through and the PTSD related depression knocks the caring about what happens to me wind out of me constantly. So, I appreciate your concern and I do listen. Raven

There's nothing whining about you Raven, you're a top guy and anyone with your kind of complaints needs attention, if you're not getting it from your medical practitioners pester them. Things are tough for you. I just wish I could do more, and I always give full credit to you for your listening skills, far superior to mine.

Just keep trying my good friend.

The VA (Veterans Administration) here in Alaska is in closer touch with it's share of veterans than anywhere else in the US. Many times katyzzz, isn't them, it's me. This has been a rather stressful past few months and I am finally starting to get re-energized. It's partly a seasonal thing too and I need some cool, sunny days. But, weirdly enough, I feel safe only in Alaska, go figure. Raven

You must be under enormous stress, the combination and brands of your medications may need review, you must ask your doctors to do something about the meds which you say cause you to put on weight and you may be better served by second opinions or indeed different doctors. It's hard, I know, plus ask yourself what do you think is causing your diabetes to get worse. You may be blaming yourself for something that is not actually your fault. Other than that, at this stage, I can't do any extra but I may come across something somewhere which may be useful to know and I shall continue to look out for you but many of these things happen by chance not by search.

I can understand that you feel safe only in Alaska and I also think you may have placed too big a task for you and Tisha to cope with.

When it comes to earning and making money, generally you need to concentrate in one area although it is possible you can earn a little here there and everywhere but I think that may not be enough to solve your problems. With men, pride gets in the way, especially with such a strong capable male as yourself.

In the interim I suggest you sleep as well as you can and catch up as often as you can when you can't. You may have to reverse some previously undertaken decisions. I've been through a lot myself but not to the same magnitude. And you have far more to cope with at present than I do.

Just keep trying and keep seeking help.

Things can and do change but there are some things we just have to accept.

I do wish I could do more but call on every source of help available to you.

You've been far more helpful katyzzz than I am able to express with words. Thanks for being yourself, consistently. Raven
