Children who practice making healthy food and activity choices continue to make those choices well into their adult years. Kids need fat, but good fats should be chosen over bad fats. Avocado, olive oil and foods rich in Omega 3s are the perfect choices. These should be supplemented with lean meats and healthy vegetables. There is nothing wrong with massing up some veggies and topping them with a little lower fat cheese to make them go down better as long as the vegetable dish is prepared in a healthy way.
Exercise choices for healthier children can include all types of play. Get up, get moving and get sweating is the only real rules to the game.
