Love at first scent?

Love scent pill disrupts

Can birth control pills lead women to choose the wrong man by changing their attraction to a man's scent? Dr. Rachel Herz talks with Maggie Rodriguez about "The Scent Of Desire."

Now I wonder what Google will come up with, let's see, shall we?

Interesting... I think there's more to it than (just) a scent

True, but we are talking about initial attraction here, and we all have to admit we're attracted to some and not others. I think this is frankly worrying and if they can substantiate it more and then influence people to change their habits, we could see a happier more responsible society, that's just my 1 cents worth, I pay when it gets to $100, so don't hold your breath, Lara.

And there are a lot of very unhappy relationships and it seems to me a disproportionately large number of sick kids, a bit like avoiding marrying your cousin etc, so we can come up with a strong gene pool.

From my knowledge man and woman see love from very different perspectives. Man normally look at it from a more logical point of view, where woman usually look at it from a more emotional point of view.

That is why there are such higher rate of girls falling for the wrong guy, then guys falling for the wrong girl.

As a result, some professional over throw the traditional idea that woman are more mature then man, when it comes to love and said that it is actually completely the opposite way around.

Well, I don't know whether there is a tendency of guys to be more mature or girls to be more mature in love. But I do believe that when a person is been logica they can make better decision.

Don't get me wrong, I think it is good for a person to have emotions, but don't let our emotions, let us loose perspective of things.

Peter, that's a wonderful insightful comment you have made, and very thoughtful too and I agree with you about the logic, but this particular post is about the natural male/female scents that take a part in love and attraction and choosing a life partner by the advantageous linking and mixing of genes to give any potential offspring the best chances in life with respect to health, fitness and capabilities in handling life's stressors, it states that the "pill" is disrupting this process and causing selectivity of those with similar not contrasting scents, thereby weakening the gene pool.

That's the best way I can think of putting it, you have actually ignored any significance of the scents which is what the research is all about.

But you have still made some very valid points about males and females and I hope many will benefit from your input, thanks for calling by and making a significant contribution.
